What was your biggest reason to compete in Miss Pakistan World?
Participating in the Miss Pakistan World competition provided me with a great opportunity to become more involved with the Pakistani community. I was not even aware of the fact that such a pageant existed until a good friend of mine who was also taking part in the competition told me about it. After dwelling into the history of this organization in further detail, I was amazed to see the amount of progress they had made in the past 3 years.
From being a fairly unknown organization which was receiving a lot of cultural criticism, they are now being sponsored by many multinational companies and being sought after by media networks and the like. The Miss Pakistan team provides Pakistani women with the platform and opportunity to go to international pageants all over the world where they can proudly promote their culture and heritage. I was astonished at the amount of hard work that the coordinators had put in to bring this pageant to the international level it is at today and to take part in such an event was an honor for me. I was able to compete in a competition that allowed all the contestants to demonstrate their uniqueness and skills within a framework that respects and embraces our socially conservative roots.
It gave us the opportunity to explore our artistic hidden talents be it singing, dancing or poetry. Also, regardless of the outcome of the event, the learning experience was something I will carry forward for the rest of my life. Entering this pageant was a tremendous challenge for all contestants. It involved many hours of hard work and ingenuity, but most of all courage.
In my heart, this contest was never just about winning, it was about representing my culture, and it was an honor to be amongst such dedicated young women. I have come to learn that nothing is unachievable if you put your mind to it.
How are you preparing for the Miss World pageant and what is a normal day in the life of Miss Pakistan World?
Keeping abreast on current world affairs to walking with the perfect gait to toning my skin and learning to improve my public speaking, I am trying to cover every possible aspect. I've learnt to be myself, to say what I mean and answer questions with full conviction, and to be simple and intelligent at the same time.
Preparing a talent/dance and getting gowns and clothes organized is also an important part of the preparation for the international pageants.
Aside from pageant preparations I have been spending most of my time preparing for my Graduate Management Admission Test which is in a month’s time as I plan to do my MBA next year. I am also currently enrolled in the Canadian Securities course, thus studying is taking over a significant part of my time these days.

One of the charities I strongly support is the International Development and Relief Foundation, an organization aimed at providing relief assistance to refugees and other victims of man- made chaos such as wars and conflicts, or natural disasters such as floods, typhoons and earthquakes.
The primary focus of IDRF is development programs aimed at poverty reduction, literacy, and healthcare, as a means
of helping families and communities equip themselves with the tools to overcome barriers and become self-reliant and self-sufficient
and their efforts range across the world from countries like
What do you think are the most important qualities to win the Miss World crown? I feel that it is very important to have an international perspective in life as the winner of Miss World has a lot of responsibilities endowed on her which require her to interact with people and cultures from all over the world. Thus being cosmopolitan, sensitive, tolerant, and diplomatic and having an understanding of world affairs would be essential qualities to possess in order to win the crown.
If you had the chance to promote I am proud of the diverse talent, culture and traditions that serve as the foundation of the country I represent. I would promote this diversity to other countries and cultures so as to highlight the many areas that we excel in, in order to help further advance our people in the global society. Culture and tradition are the fabric and glue that hold a community together, and I have recognize that within our society it is these aspects that have helped us progress in different parts of the world where our communities exist.
Being able to share activities and beliefs with one another helps to create strong bonds which create positive outcomes in all areas of life, whether it be in work, family and relationships, and in interacting with other communities. There are many countries that have similar foundations and it is also a great opportunity to learn about other cultures as we promote our own, in order to create greater awareness in society.
How do you define the role of women in your country at this moment?
While Pakistani women continue to struggle for advancement, they have made strides by a number
of measures. Among these are the rising numbers of women in well-paid professional occupations and increased activism by feminist
groups. Women in
What kind of profession would you like to pursue?
I plan on pursuing a career as an investment banker after completing my MBA in Finance. I know that a good education is vital as it contributes to opening doors and opportunities to advance in our careers. Having worked in the financial services industry for the past two years, I feel that its time to do my masters now and fortify my capacity to successfully compete in the global business world we reside in.
How has your family influenced your life? My family has influenced me in every aspect and been there for me, providing me with advice and supporting me as well as standing by me in respect to every decision I chose to make. They have been source of energy and equilibrium in my life and have shaped me into what I am today and instilled moral values and taught me to be a hard working, self sufficient and responsible individual.
If you had the opportunity to fulfill a dream for your country at this moment, what would it be and why? In
our current day and age, two of the biggest challenges faced by
Terrorism not only causes the obvious physical destruction of people and infrastructure, it leaves people homeless, ill and uncared for, thus only aggravating an already grave poverty situation. Of course, we still need to focus on assisting the poor and eliminating poverty but we must also focus on removing terrorism. The analogy of a cup with holes comes to mind: once the holes are patched, only then will pouring water into the cup result in real progress and increased levels. In this case terrorism is a hole in our society.
In your opinion what is the definition of "Beauty with a Purpose"? Beauty with a purpose is penned as being true to your title and the responsibilities that come alongside it. People are under the misconception that beauty queens don’t have a purpose except to look pretty which is so far from the truth. Beauty queens are now actively involved in taking part in charity events, creating awareness for issues that need to be given attention to as well as spearheading and promoting fundraisers, creating awareness for major world issues, but more importantly bringing issues that are important to everyday society to the attention of political and business leaders.
Miss World should be a voice for women all across the world and try and get rid of the oppression that still surrounds women in many parts of the world today.
Embracing the theme "Beauty with a Purpose" involves conveying the message of compassion, friendship and understanding throughout the world. Though we cannot change the world, we can certainly try to make it a better place to live in.
